Oh. I still do that Haven't been able to post much though cos I first have to wait for stuff to get published and then there are a lot of exclusives which I can't post at all.
Oh yes. Looks like I won't be catching them this summer unless I travel, but maybe I would even consider it. They were just too good.
Still, the fact that you do it and get to meet them... I work in concert tech and consider myself lucky when I get to work on a show that a band I love is playing, but I never get much of a chance to actually sit down and say hi. Tis an enviable position my friend. And do it, travel! Ha. I would have to do the same if I wanted to see them again. It's rare that bands come to Australia at all, but Nightwish always make a point of coming once each tour, something I and their other aussie fans are very grateful for.
You do? Woah, that must be pretty cool. What do you do exactly? Haha, you have to switch with your friend every now and then. And it's not like I really have time to chat either. This sort of work is very fast and down to the point. The bands sure value their time and I try not to waste it.
I'm a sound tech for preference, but do sound, lighting, production crew, few other things depending on time of year and what work's on offer. Currently doing lots in theatre but missing my live music. I love the idea of informality, but I suppose really the photography would often be as fast cut as mine if not more, so I shouldn't complain. Still, tis just the up close and personal nature of a photo that I envy, I think.
Last weekend, I was the lighting tech for a comedy band I've loved for years. One of the members designed the lighting for the show, and sat down with me to plot it, was amazing to be able to just talk to them in that setting. But yes, I know what you mean about valuing their time. Schedules for a tour are packed tight as hell.
And I bet they were. Now that Floor joined in, more than ever. I hope they keep her.
And yeah, I was a little skeptical until I saw them live. I'll happily admit I was wrong, though. Happy to be proven incorrect on that one.

Comedy band you've loved for years? Mmmm. Please tell me it's not the band that has beards, or I might get really jealous.
