So guys, I remember I asked you to tip me off about some good rock bands a couple years ago. And I should give a huge thanks to everyone who sent suggestions because some of them have become my current favs.

Guess I am badly outdated again. Right now I mostly have Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Dead By Sunrise, Sick Puppies, A7X and Shinedown on my playlist.
So if any of you know of a lesser known band that fits on the list feel free to tell me about them. I could use some fresh music.
  • Listening to: Breaking Benjamin
  • Playing: Sims 3

I think you might like A Perfect Circle or Lacuna Coil. =P

Though LC is pretty weak lyrically they have amazing melodies. I suggest checking out Our Truth by Lacuna Coil. Maybe you'll like it.

Not too late to suggest? Might not exactly fit into your list (based on BB, currently can't recall any songs of others), but these are awesome bands. So, The Pretty Reckless released their new album not too long ago. I don't know if you know The Gits, if you don't , give them a shot, you might like them. Also, check out Them crooked vultures. And now I'm really hooked on Soundgarden and Audioslave, but I won't mention really famous bands, because I'm sure you already know them.

I know Soundgarden and they are not exactly my thing. Audioslave... I heard the name but can't recall the music. Thanks for the suggestions with the other two, those are completely new to me so I'll give them a go.

Honestly, I don't even listen to the radio any more because it's pretty much all garbage. And if I hear another person mention that damn song from Frozen I'm going on a killing spree. Seriously. I haven't even heard the damn thing aside from the snippet in the commercial for the movie and I'm sick of it already.

I'm a huge fan of Breaking Benjamin, however, so I can offer a list of some of my other favorite artists in case you'd like to check them out. The Rasmus, for one. If you don't mind the music you're listening to being in a language you don't understand, I also highly recommend my favorite band in the whole world, the GazettE (they're Japanese). If you want something a bit less hard rock, go for The Killers. I don't know why but their music always makes me feel better after a bad day. And I really enjoyed the latest album by Fall Out Boy, surprisingly. Then there's my old standby, Depeche Mode. They're still putting out new material, but I tend to like their older stuff better (from Black Celebration to Ultra). Playing the Angel was a good album, though.

Honestly, my musical tastes run the gamut, lol... from Japanese boy groups like Arashi to Marilyn Manson to DMX. I have a bit of everything. Except country. I have very little of that.

That's my case exactly, I haven't listened to the radio in 5 years. That's why I am so far behind. I pick my bands from what my friends recommend and from the shows I've done, but that excludes a lot of music from the States and the UK, for example.

Damn song from Fozen? Ok, now I am curious about what the song is. And while at it what Frozen is, too.

Oooh I just love BB. Wonder if there's any chance they are ever coming back from hiatus and releasing another album. They are a bucket list band. Haha, I am already through my Rasmus phase but I used to listen to them a lot when I was a teen. I have seen the Gazette live a couple of times and they didn't do anything to me. If it didn't happen live I guess an album won't change much. Killers... hmmm. I know their most famous songs and it's not exactly the kind of stuff I think I'd like. It's more something to go clubbing to for me rather than listen to at home.

I have pretty much ignored DM until now... just heard It's No Good and that's it. Is it a typical thing for them, orrr?

Clubbing music? The Killers? Are we talking about the same group? lol... They're hardly clubbing music. (Unless the club scene is REALLY different there than it is here.)

It's No Good was the first song of theirs that really caught my attention, too. The rest of that particular album (Ultra) has a similar vibe to it, yes. Their earliest stuff is more... 80s synthpop. Black Celebration was when they went more "goth." Violator had their two biggest hits on it (Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence). Songs of Faith and Devotion was their "grunge" album, which they did when the lead singer was at the height of his drug problems. Here you go: play.google.com/music/m/Aniz2j… - that should give you samples of pretty much everything they've released. Delta Machine is their most recent album that I have. My personal favorite albums are Ultra, Black Celebration, and Playing the Angel. If you need a hook-up on anything, just let me know. ;)

I think we are :) I dance to them whenever they play on the radio.

Personal Jesus is their song as well? Live and learn. That one I do like. And Enjoy The Silence of course.
Grunge album? Now things are getting interesting. I will definitely check that one out.

Hmmm.... Nope, nothing comes to mind in those genres. Plan Three is too melodic (I think you've seen them once, with Sick Puppies) and Blowsight is too pop-punk-ish. Everything else I listen to is way too metal :D

Yeah, that seemed to be the case, even though it's hard to judge when it's an acoustic gig. Blowsight? Never heard of them, but a bit of pop-punk doesn't hurt.
